Programs at Our Lendrum Community League

  • Bring your little one ages 0-3 years to socialize with their future classmates as well as meet some parents in the neighborhood. Feel free to dropin for as much or as little time as you'd like. Coffee/snacks provided and a couple bucks to cover much appreciated.

    Last Sunday of the month from 10-2pm.

    Depending on turn out and how we set up the hall we could change the age range a bit.

  • The Lendrum Book Club meets monthly - generally the last Tuesday of the month.

    Books are selected from book kits available at the Public Library so no purchases are required!

    We are a very inclusive group - you don’t even have to have read the book to come!

    Here is a sampling of books read and discussed to date:

  • Lendrum participates in the City of Edmonton’s community league swim program. With your community league membership card you can access free swimming Sundays, 4pm-5:30pm at Confederation Leisure Centre, 11204 43 Avenue. Please note there won’t be community league swim on holidays.

  • The Lendrum Craft Group welcomes all residents and friends who enjoy a variety of handcrafts. Some of our favourites are: quilting, crocheting, knitting, drawing, painting, and wood carving.

    We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays throughout the year (except on holiday Mondays) and share a potluck lunch at 1:00 pm.

  • The Lendrum Food and Garden Network is for individuals who have an interest in growing and sharing food. The direction of the group is guided by the members. Past group events have included presentations on permaculture, canning, and raised bed gardening.

    If you are interested in joining the group or are able to contribute as a presenter, please let us know!

  • Girl Guides invites girls to challenge themselves, find their voice, meet new friends and make a difference. Join anytime, always accepting new girls in all levels! New leaders are always welcome!

    Meetings are at Lendrum Community Hall.

    Sparks (ages 5-6)

    Brownies (ages 7-8)

    Guides (ages 9-11)

    Pathfinders (ages 12-15)

    Rangers (ages 15-17)

    Community League Membership is not required

  • The Lendrum Community League hosts a kids yoga class for kids aged 3-5years. It runs on Sunday mornings at the hall.

    The cost is dependent on the number of participants per eight-week session.

  • Gather all ye jolly good men for a night of socializing, snacking and beverage drinking.

    Bring a few dollars to cover your expenses. Drop in for a few minutes or stay a while! Get to know others in the neighbourhood.

  • You might have noticed we've begun the inevitable march towards winter, and soon the snow will come. You know the feeling when you get all bundled up and head out to shovel....you finally warm up and darn it, you've finished your driveway and sidewalk. Why not warm up to the idea of helping out a neighbour with some snow clearing?

    To Seniors in need of snow shovelling help when there finally is snow.

  • Outdoor Soccer Registration starts February 1st and ends February 29th. The season begins the first week of May (weather permitting). Registration must be done on the SWEMSA website (emsasouthwest.com).

  • The Lendrum Pottery Group meets at the Lendrum hall. Members have access to a variety of supplies and a kiln. Space is limited. A community league membership to your home community is required to join.

    The group has two annual sales a year, one before Mother's Day and then other before Christmas, where dishwisher, oven and freezer safe pottery is sold. Watch for news of Pottery Sales in the Lendrum Living Newsletter.

  • The Seniors Discussion Group meets nearly once a month to discuss topics of interest and to socialize.

    Past topics have included:

    • Nutrition and Aging: adaptations to your body’s changes

    • Keeping healthy with help from fitness and physiotherapy experts

    • Safety: Home security, fraud aimed at seniors

  • Knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers, all stitchers of all ages and genders are welcome to join us on the first and third Mondays of each month from 1:30 to 4:00 pm at Lendrum Community Hall. If there is a fifth Monday we gather with the Craft Group.

    All skill levels and genders are welcome!

    Cost is a twoonie a time as a donation to the League.

  • The Lendrum Community League hosts a yoga class.

    Thursday’s from 8:15 PM to 9:15 PM at the Hall.

    The cost is dependent on the number of participants per eight-week session.

    The class is a yoga-flow suitable for both beginners and more advanced participants.

  • This is a summer program that meets once a week to do gardening clean-up in the Lendrum Natural Area.

The Lendrum Living Newsletter relies on the contributions from our residents and the surrounding area. Please contact the Editor if you have an article or story idea, or an advertisement.

We are always looking for Lendrum residents to deliver the newsletter. The newsletter is published five times per year. It takes about 1.5 hours to deliver your route. Honorariums are provided.

There is no charge for classified ads from Lendrum Place residents or ads from non-profit organizations benefiting the Lendrum area.

Costs for all other ads are as follows. Please note, sizes are approximate.
